Midday: Scenic Transport to the Castle

Following the morning tour, you transitions seamlessly from the city to the countryside. Comfortably traveling by pre-arranged private car or charter bus, a short and scenic drive takes your guests north of Uppsala through the beautiful landscapes of Uppland.

Lunch: A Royal Welcome at Salsta Slott

The drive concludes as the breathtaking Salsta Slott—a stunning Baroque palace surrounded by lush nature—comes into view. Here, in a historic and atmospheric setting, the group gathers to enjoy a classic Swedish lunch: the Castle’s Signature Meatball Sandwich, served with fresh coffee or a refreshing artisanal non-alcoholic beverage.

Afternoon: The Swedish Fika Baking Masterclass at the Castle

Still inside the inspiring walls of Salsta Slott, it’s time for you to roll up their sleeves and step into the kitchen for an exclusive, team-building culinary experience. Fika is far more than just a coffee break—it is a way of life, and today, they will learn the craft from scratch.

Together, you will craft iconic treats like warm cinnamon buns, raspberry cave cookies (hallongrottor), chocolate balls, Swedish gooey chocolate cake (kladdkaka), and the legendary marzipan dammsugare.

  • The Prisoners of Iron: Immersive Summer Theatre in a World-Unique Forge

The Prisoners of Iron: Immersive Summer Theatre in a World-Unique Forge

Some stories can only be told in the very place where they once unfolded. “Jernets Fångar” (Prisoners of Iron) is a unique summer theater production staged inside the historic Walloon forge in Österbybruk. Here, amidst the massive stone walls and ancient hearths, you will encounter the people who lived with and for the iron—in pride and captivity, in joy and sorrow.

An Experience for All the Senses

Although the play is performed in Swedish, the production speaks to an international audience through its powerful visual and auditory storytelling:

    • Music & Dance: The performance is driven by choreographed dance and the haunting sounds of the Swedish nyckelharpa (keyed fiddle) blended with modern electronic tones.
    • The Atmosphere: Being present at the actual site of historical iron production provides an understanding that transcends language.
    • International Support: For our international guests, a detailed English program explaining the plot is included. We also offer guided introductions in English before the curtain rises.

    Dates & Information (Summer 2026)

The production celebrates its 36th year and runs for a limited period:

    • Premiere: Sunday, June 21 at 5:00 PM.
    • Performance Period: Regular shows from June 21 to July 5.
    • Duration: Approx. 2.5 hours including intermission (on-site theater café available).
